We begin on the rugged north Atlantic coast, which is one of Spain’s photographic hotspots. Unspoilt bays, rocky shorelines and sandy beaches abound. Sea stacks, jurassic rock formations and cathedral-like sea arches are to be found all along this wild coastline.

We’ll explore this 300km stretch of coast from Santander in the east to As Catedrais in the west, shooting from cliff tops and shorelines. We’ll even venture inland to visit the stunning area of Covadonga and it’s majestic cathedral nestled in the Picos de Europa mountains.

“The opportunities were endless and I could have easily stayed another week.”
Ian M

After five days by the coast, we then head into the heart of Spain and to one of its best kept secrets - Albarracin. We’ll spend our final three nights in this charming medieval village, exploring its cobbled lanes which weave among its crooked buildings.

This trip offers a great diversity of subjects to shoot and skills to learn and practice.

Meet your hosts...

Between them, Marcus and Ruth have made numerous trips to Spain’s stunning medieval village of Albarracin and recently spent time exploring all the north coast has to offer, ahead of our trip to this under the radar part of Spain.

As a pro landscape and travel photographer, this trip is right up Marcus’s street. He will be joined by Ruth, our Photography Online host. Although not a pro photographer, the kind of street and architectural environment found in Albarracin in particular is what fires her up and ignites her passion for taking photos. Ruth’s keen eye for detail will allow her to point out subjects which may not be immediately obvious.

The town was like an authentic movie set which I never tired of exploring. Thank you so much for introducing this hidden gem to me.

The changing light and the way it played between the terracotta buildings meant I couldn’t stop taking photos. What an amazing place.

I can’t think of a better location to learn photography. Albarracín is the perfect classroom to practice a whole range of skills.
