Our Masterclasses are designed to take your photography to the next level in your photographic development. They are suitable for anyone with any level of technical ability and virtually any amount of equipment. However to make the most of this course, a reasonable understanding of exposure and your camera’s menus will be useful.
This particular Masterclass will be based on the stunning Isles of Lewis & Harris, where we stay in a private 19th century, fully catered hunting lodge. This helps emphasise the class in masterclass!
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and am very grateful to you for your patience and positive feedback. The tasks / challenges were an excellent way to stimulate our thinking and take us out of our comfort zones. It has certainly taught me a few nuggets to take forward.
Exploring multiple genres of photography, this course is focused on telling stories & documenting what you see whilst out and about with your camera. We will explore how to turn good images into great images, and what it is that actually makes an image great.
Through a balance of slideshow presentations, in-field practical sessions and group image reviews, we will demonstrate how, by applying certain thought processes and implementing certain practices, everyone can dramatically improve their own photography and then readily apply it to their own personal areas of interest.
Meet Your Guide...
James McCormick
Working as a commercial photographer over the past 30+ years, James has a rich experience in this field. His work has morphed and evolved across time and has encompassed many differing genres of photography. Be it portraiture, commercial reportage, advertising or lifestyle shoots, James has probably done it and is probably still doing it. This makes him uniquely qualified to offer insights into the real world of photography and the perfect candidate to pass these thoughts on to each participant of the Masterclass.
