Immerse yourself in the unique culture, rich history and diverse scenery of China, as we guide you from Beijing in the north, to Hong Kong in the south.
China is often misunderstood by the West, so we want to showcase its true identity and character. Expect to be photographing a huge range of subjects, such as stunning landscapes, natural portraits, architecture, street and night scenes. We mostly stay away from popular tourist locations, instead choosing more remote and often more stunning areas to spend our time in.
We were promised a real Chinese experience and that is exactly what we got. I have so many amazing memories of the places we visited and the local people we met along the way - interactions that wouldn’t have happened on a normal tour.
We’ll be mostly staying and eating in places where few foreigners venture, experiencing and photographing the true authentic China at its very best. From the elegance of a traditional tea ceremony to life in a gritty twelth century town, this ten day trip will give you everything you expect and more. We have no doubt you’ll return home with a complete travel portfolio of stunning photos, as well as a wealth of new skills and experience to take your photographic journey forwards.
Meet your hosts...
Marcus lived and worked in China for five years, which is where the foundations for this trip were sown. Working as a travel photographer, Marcus spent much of his time exploring under-the-radar locations to get the photos he wanted. Some of these locations we still use on our trips. Marcus’s passion for this vast country will become apparent to anyone who joins the group.
James has co-hosted most of our previous trips to China, so understands the culture and the people. He revels in the diversity of subjects on offer and particularly enjoys our portrait and street photography sessions.
We've been talking about what we might have changed about the trip, but the answer is nothing.
I came home from the trip having had an experience that will stay with me forever.
It was great to have quality time in each location and not have to hurry around.
