Our trips to China offer an experience which simply cannot be achieved without local knowledge. This holiday is all about seeing the authentic side of China and being shown how best to document everything you witness with stunning photography.
After spending a night in Beijing to allow everyone to settle in, we head north to a section of the Great Wall which is not open to mass tourism. This means we’re likely to have the Wall all to ourselves, which is not only great for photography, but provides an unforgettable experience as you sit alone and watch the sun rise and set from atop one of the true wonders of the world.
“We were promised a real Chinese experience and that is exactly what we got. I have so many amazing memories of the places we visited and the local people we met along the way – interactions that wouldn’t have happened on a normal tour.”Lynn F.
We then head into the heart of China, bound for a couple of China’s most recognisable landscapes where vertical columns of sandstone rise hundreds of metres into the air. We will explore the views from both above and below Zhangjiajie and Guilin. Our departure point is Hong Kong, where members of the group can then either, return home or extend their stay for a couple of days in order to explore Asia’s most vibrant city.
Meet your hosts…
Marcus and James have been working together since 1996 – a journey which has taken them many times around the world working for the likes of Microsoft, Panasonic, Caffe Nero, and Visit Britain. Marcus’s roots lie in travel and landscape photography, whereas James has worked as a Reuters’ photographer in Africa.
Between them they have travelled to over 80% of the world’s countries, both living and working abroad for severaI years. Their combined experience makes them excellent guides, and gives them plenty of amusing stories to tell over dinner.
“We’ve been talking about what we might have changed about the trip, but the answer is nothing.”
“I came home from the trip having had an experience that will stay with me forever.”
“It was great to have quality time in each location and not have to hurry around.”
